VuNow Pod, los videos on-line en tu televisiónPara todos aquellos fanáticos de Youtube que no se conforman con ver vídeos en el ordenador está disponible el VuNow Pod, un dispositivo que nos permite ver y buscar vídeos on-line en la televisión.

El VuNow Pod es tan pequeño que cabe en la palma de la mano. Se puede conectar a la televisión a través de sus conectores RCA o S-Video y a Internet mediante Ethernet o Wi-Fi, aunque para acceder de manera inalámbrica necesitaremos un adaptador USB que se vende por separado.

También incorpora dos puertos USB para conectar este adaptador o bien una memoria flash o un disco duro externo. Además, es compatible con DLNA y puede funcionar con  servidores NAS.

Aparentemente, la interfaz de usuario es bastante sencilla y con su mando a distancia podemos navegar por diferentes canales de vídeo, incluido Youtube, aunque para ello necesitamos tener instalado en el PC, que hará de broadcaster o streamer, un sistema operativo de Windows (XP Home, XP Professional o VISTA), así que los usuarios de Mac y Linux se pueden ir olvidando de momento.

El VuNow Pod viene en dos formatos: uno de alta definición que cuesta 150 dólares y otro de resolución estándar que cuesta 100 dólares. Lo mejor de todo es que no necesitamos suscribirnos a ningún servicio y por lo tanto, todo es gratis.
